Herbal Infusions, Decoctions & Cold Infusions
This experience can be based either in our barn, with Rue our Spotted Eagle Owl, or around a long table outside amongst nature in our gardens.
Hamish, a qualified Herbologist from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh has specialised in Scotland’s natural flora and fauna, he will take your guests on a journey of discovery, looking at how Scotland’s wonderful array of fauna and flora can be encapsulated with the art of herbal tea making. He will guide you through different ways of making herbal teas, discussing the health benefits and added properties that our wild indigenous plants have in infusions, decoctions, and cold infusions.
This experience will be led by a presentation, Hamish will have gathered some seasonal plant material for you to work with, whilst also discussing and exploring the plant materials’ health benefits.
We can also adapt this experience to start with a small harvesting walk allowing guests to choose the plant material that they would like to work with.
In addition, a Call of the Wild notebook will be provided so you can take notes to create a working memory of your time here at Call of the Wild in Highland Perthshire.
Guests are also very welcome to wander around our gardens and shop. Guest toilets and a cloakroom are also available
This experience can either be followed by afternoon tea and cake, or a light lunch depending on the time of day.
Duration: 1.5 hours including refreshments
